Much of the nation is reeling in disbelief and disgust tonight at the announcement by the Prime Minister that he is retaining Lynda Tabuya as Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation despite the findings of his own party that she engaged in an orgy of illicit sex and drugs during an official visit to Melbourne last August.
Sitiveni Rabuka has lost all moral authority in the People’s Alliance and the country – thumbing his nose at all notions of proper ministerial conduct in any democracy. He said he would be guided by the Ministerial Code of Conduct that applies to cabinet ministers. We now know that it has been amended to allow for married ministers to have “brutal” sex with their colleagues and smoke “weed” on overseas trips. Yes, Fiji, that’s precisely what this means.
The Prime Minister has abandoned the most basic notions of conduct that apply in any other democracy – that when ministers lie to a Prime Minister – as Lynda Tabuya has done – and a Prime Minister lies to the nation – as Sitiveni Rabuka did on September 9 last year – all bets are off. It is usually instant dismissal, as well it should be when the people we elect to represent our interests mislead us. And then, as the Prime Minister has done, betray us by abandoning the principles on which our society is built.
There is now going to be intense attention on the Prime Minister’s own chequered sexual history, his affairs and illegitimate children. Because this is a man who preaches Christian principles but has the sexual history of a un-neutered tom cat. We are also entitled to know the precise nature of his personal relationship with Lynda Tabuya and the persistent rumours that they have been sexually entangled themselves.
As for the Coalition’s resident Temptress *, there is no escape. The evidence of her wrongdoing is there for all the see and was accepted by the People’s Alliance to the point that it dismissed her from the deputy leadership of the party. The fact that the Prime Minister has thrown her a life-line is a poisoned chalice and only delays the inevitable. She cannot show her face anywhere in Fiji without people knowing that she may be the Minister for Women but she is a woman of ill repute. And a Minister for Children who is the worst possible role model for the nation’s young people as a marijuana user in the midst of a national drug crisis.
As for the third part of her portfolio – social protection – it is the husbands of the wives of Fiji who need protection from a sexual predator without conscience. Lynda Tabuya admitted her adultery in writing to Sainiana Radrodro and begged for forgiveness. That “smoking gun” email is still to make it into the public arena but it will. And so too will the report of the PAP disciplinary committee, whose members have been branded liars by their own Prime Minister and will be seething tonight. We need to see the evidence they used to find Lynda Tabuya guilty. Because the Prime Minister has wilfully chosen to ignore it.
As the Opposition Leader, Inia Seruiratu, has made clear tonight, this is not the end of the matter and neither should it be. Indeed it is only the beginning of the intense pressure that the Snake and his Temptress will be under in the coming days. And they will deserve every bit of the censure that is coming their way. Because they are gripped by moral turpitude, just as the rest of us are gripped by feelings of disgust.
That it has come to this in public life in Fiji under a government that promised better is an absolute disgrace. And the Coalition as a whole is going to pay a very heavy price for its woeful lack of even the most basic moral scruples. A day to be ashamed to be Fijian. And especially to be ashamed that this is the example we are setting our children when proper role models are needed now more than ever.
POSTSCRIPT: The question as to whether the Prime Minister was blackmailed by the threat of a no confidence motion by Lynda Tabuya and Aseri Radrodro – see our previous “Is this why the Prime Minister is stalling?” – is now a matter of vital importance for the parliament as a whole. If what a senior source told Grubsheet is true, it is a direct attack on our democracy and the ability of our elected leaders to govern without fear or favour. And it cannot be allowed to go unanswered.
H.E the President and the Commander of the RFMF have constitutional responsibilities in relation to this and they must do their duty to defend the integrity of the state and protect the subversion of our parliament by any MP for their own personal interests, and especially in a sex and drug scandal such as this.
Tevita Qio says
Why are we even surprised
We expected this to happen
Rabuka will bring down Coalition eventually
Randy says
Once a snake always a snake. To the people who got swayed into voting for Rabuka, shame on you. As always the fanatical itaukei extremists pulled the race card and as usual the itaukei voted to save their land from the vulagis. Guess what Rabuka and his circus of clowns aren’t there to safeguard your interests, they are only there to fill their pockets. The NBF collapse should be a stark reminder of who you voted in
No Confidence says
What a snake! The way he was pussy-footing it was clear he was stalling and will not act.
Big shame on him!
He lied to the people of the country winning their trust to come into power that he has changed and lo behold it was back to his usual dirty tricks once he was in.
A sly fox and snake, never to be trusted.
No confidence in you.
Rabuka - repeat of 19877 says
The bitch certainly sets herself on fire this time. 100%
Now she will have the nation and the opposition after her.
She will face the wrath and scrutiny of overseas media wherever she goes.
She will burn and gesa her lover boy Rabuka with her.
I bet they both know what this exactly means.
Out comes the email to Mrs Radrodro next.
Rabuka is not a PM material. Not too smart as one would think either. Losing his bearings fast.
Word is that Kamikamica and Tabuya want him out. They have been cooking this agenda for a while.
Wall Singh Matilda ! says
Randy ,let the itaukei be. They know not what they do. They even support the Israeli massacre and the perpetrator.
The biblical and political last days are here . Methinks the army will toss these blokes out before the end of this month. They’re ultimately the final security cordon for the citizens from rogue parliamentarians.
Appalled says
Waltzing Matilda **
Quack-a-jack says
@Wall Singh Matilda I’m with you mate, let the apartheid loving racists natives be. Their mana comes from the sky. We could go as far as to suggest, nay, recommend we bring back our very own prophet ephraim philip and prophets lily and passion java to minister to this lot and drive the show! Add to the mix the good bigots of icej to blow the ram’s horn, make music, song, and dance to bring unbridled sheer and utter joy to the people! We need some fun! Haha!
Disgusted says
Utterly disgusted and disappointed.
You bunch of clowns don’t deserve to lead us. We the people put you there and you have let us down big time.
Here you were finger pointing at ffp when your own house is filled with filth.
I’ve never been a ffp fan but their moral compass was straighter than yours ever will be.
Fjord Sailor says
This was written on the cards so no one should have their panties in a bunch over Rabukas decision.
The madness has to stop and it’s apparent that either a snap election or the intervention of the military is now required to bring this freak show of a government to an end.
Calling on the military says
NOT MY PM.
Sack them both.
Where is the President and the Military here?
Our constitution is compromised.
This is too dangerous.
Maria says
Once a snake always a snake! Lest we not forget.
You all including Lynda and Shamima should rot in hell.
Marama says
Wtf!
This is a sheer circus.
PM you have let down the women and children of this country.
We demand you resign with that slut of a Minister of yours.
Fiona says
Gross injustice.
You’re totally unfit to lead you self-serving serpent

As much as one would like it to be, I don’t think much of the nation is in disbelief or disgust…not only because only a few take to social media to express their indignation at immoral behaviour so their numbers look low due to lack of active participation. BUT I’d say the majority would secretly and maybe overtly aspire to such abuses of power and indulgences given half a chance !! Really?? You would hope that this is not so but this is the paradox of local society in my opinion…rotten to the core yet an outer display of flakey lustre. IE The rot is from the grassroots upwards and not just top down. Harsh?? Not true?? Maybe not, if this commentary is made from a position of experience in living in cultures outside of Fiji as well as in Fiji, and being able to make a comparative observation.
“Fiji the way the the world should be” is just a cliched outdated and irrelevant slogan.
Happy to be proven wrong but there will be more outrage and public anger displayed followed by tangible action if things go wrong in rugby for example!
Qase says
There is more outrage about Fiji 7s performances by common itaukeis than the disgusting outrageous actions by the Great Temptress and the PM.
That shows Sunday worship is just a joke. All for show and lacking substance.
Open Pandora’s Box says
Holly Molly only in Fiji. Is she was elsewhere she’d be long gone.
People have been fooled.
One rule for the elite and one rule for the commoners.
Not only sex scandal she’s been taking drugs and admitted to it and here you are keeping her in charge of our women and children. Makes one wonder what has she got on the PM?
Time to expose the skeletons Graham.
Slutty Snake n Snaky Slut says
PS Defence Mason Smith.
The PM and your Minister are compromised.
Too late for either of them.
Isn’t the very high possibility that the criminal Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection mired in a DRUG and sex scandal with another married MP and found guilty by the leading Party’s disciplinary committee may be blackmailing the Head of Government to remain as a Minister??
Do the right thing please.
I voted for this party and I’m pissed off.
What a day of shame, People’s Alliance Party!!!
Seruiratu, here’s your chance.
Make the move!
Disgusted but not surprised says
I agree it is a terrible decision by a weak old man who was never competent enough to be PM. But using that word in the headline diminishes you and the work you have been doing in bringing this to the public eye. It never would have happened without Fiji Leaks and Grubsheet. Keep the high ground. I hope this is not the end of it and that all the evidence that was considered by the disciplinary committee gets leaked . God forbid she succeeds in her aim to be our first female Prime Minister. It would be a sad day indeed for the women of Fiji if this is the best we can produce. But then again, we don’t have a great track record of PMs, at least in recent times. The bar is already low.
Graham Davis says
I have taken notice of your objection to the headline and have altered it. Written in the heat of the moment. My apologies.

Ashamed to be a woman in Fiji says
Sad day in Fiji’s current political environment.
I am ashamed as a mother, woman, wife and daughter.
I will never feel safe as a worker in Fiji anymore.
I will never feel safe as a woman anymore.
This means anyone can do anything and walk away free.
Gender violence can go both ways.
This is an example of a woman abusing power.
Disgusted says
Shamima must feel glorified.
She has helped a home wrecker to feel priviledged.
We have lost all moral standards today.
And this will cost the government big time.
She will go GD.
Just a matter of time.
Paula Raqeukai says
Isa lei o Viti – SLR and LT unfit to represent the Coalition Government and its principle of Good Governance. It is a pity that SLR has ignored his own PAP Mgt. Disciplinary Board, it will haunt them forever…I am sure there is a “kilavata” between the TWO…Only time will tell… SLR confirms his weak leadership, unfit to lead Fiji for the next 2 years…time for MK to fill this PM’s shoes…
What you look at? says
The PM has made the correct call on the Minister for Bonking and Weed taking.
First, it would be hypocritical of him to sack the minister while he himself is a well-known adulterer and bonker. He would have to sack himself at the same time; not to mention many others in parliament;
Second, I believe the Minister can spill the beans on the PM and other members of government if she were sacked, so he let sleeping dog (another word for a female dog is bitch) lie;
Thirdly, the minister has clearly passed the parliamentary Code of Conduct according to the PM. Bonking and weed taking is not a crime and nowhere in the Code of Conduct does it say that this is a crime;
Fourthly, the minister is now perfectly qualified to be next in line to be the first female PM. She clearly has all the experience to handle the pressures of the top job with so much confidence;
Fifthly, and more importantly the PM must save his job and his coalition government so why would he shoot himself in the foot? There is so much more glory to be had, he has been in the job for only 15 months and the glory so far has not been enough;
Sixthly, Have you seen how much the minister has aged in the last week or two. Clearly, she is now old enough to take the top job. She will be fronting the press with so much more confidence now that she has the full backing of the PM;
Seventhly, the government and its members will now serve the full term and will not be looking over their shoulder for what may be coming their way next, because as we all know this problem has now been solved by “Moses”;
Eightly, and most importantly, the people of Fiji are truly lucky that they have this government in place to move them forward!!!!
Ninthly, Shamima Ali would be ecstatic, she will be having an unstoppable automatic orgasm at the news. Like none she has ever had before, I would think;
Tenthly, every girl and young woman should follow the role model and now get a distinct tattoo just so that they can easily be identified in future without any fear in a video which may surface later in their lives. I mean, what is there to fear?
Eleventhly, this government will pretend nothing has happened and life will go on. They will attend church, pray, and fast and God willing, they will go on to do bigger and better things for the people after so much turmoil – (in my dreams). We all know God works in funny ways and he knows best! Just imagine all ministers sitting in Cabinet and all congratulating the PM on a job well done. They all will just get on with the job. There is nothing better than the Pathetic (I mean Pacific) Way.
I repeat, bonking is not a crime, everyone does it – me included!!!!!. No not with the minister or Shamima – I have very high standards.
I would like to see some “short time” day beds put in parliament to make things more convenient for all. Whoever bonks most qualifies to be PM. What is more, bonking is healthy.
Weak leader doesn’t have the guts says
I would say it again SLR is a weak leader he doesn’t have the guts or maybe the nuts in his sack to dismiss Lynda. Not only that there is no moral ethics left in this guy and sadly he is PM of the country which we call home. This government is only driven on self survival and scandals, it is indeed a shameful day for Fiji. Is this what people voted for in December 2022.
Bajaru Coalition says
Womaniser PM of Fiji.
Bonking women and now these women hold him to ransom.
Bajaru khana Parliament.
Time for a movement says
Freaking useless opposition.
Fiji, let’s march the cities of Fiji.
Call for a new clean Parliament.
We have had enough.
Throw the Military out too.
Unimaginable bullshit says
Not my PM
Not my PM
Not my PM
Gone too far this time.
Totally unacceptable.
Boura says
We have been patient for 16 years..what’s 4 years, they will eventually reap what they’ve sown. That principle never fails!!
Toxic Tabuya Out! says
Buckle up Rambo and Lynda.
Now the nation is going to see all hell break loose as evidence comes to the forefront regarding this case.
We need Bai back urgently says
Lucky bitch doesn’t have Bainimarama to deal with her.
Shows one thing today.
Bainimarama was a man of expected conduct and decent behavior. Period.
He would have chewed her alive for lying to him. Let alone bonk a married man.
Bainimarama seemed harsh because he acted as one. Now we know why.
Fijians are such clueless and unworthy lot in leadership that if one doesn’t keep harsh they will have women like Tabuya walking all over them. Typical bush behaviour.
How we wish Bai was reigning today.
Damn Fiji. Too shameful.
Bai had class says
They called Bainimarama up himself.
He was such because he upheld his values as a leader.
He entertained no shit.
He called Rabuka a snake for a reason.
Worst day to be alive during IWD month.
Shameless Shamima says
Shamima must be satisfied.
The sidekick gains glory.
Meanwhile women in Fiji saying, “not going to that Shamima for help.”
Inia Seruratu - grow up says
Inia Seruratu, grow some balls or get out.
Your quietness is worrying.
Lynda was lecturing you in Parliament this week.
Don’t allow that bitch to teach you all.
Talk over her. Silence her.
She doesn’t get to look after our daughters.
Speak up.
How untrustworthy of this PM says
Margaret Wise must be shaking her head.
Remember 23 years ago this PM bonked her and had a child from her. A 60 year old at the time having a sexual affair with a media journalist while married. Shows how untrustworthy this man is with woman. He will pull his pants down for anyone who brings him power.
Please keep him away from your wife and daughters.
Foolish PM says
He’s been weighed and found grossly wanting… At crossroads, the sexual predator keeps squandering second chances to take firm steps in the right direction. Not even his daughters having to pay a heavy price for their father’s sins will move the foolish, arrogant man. His time is up unfortunately…
One day safe Mafatu says
The PM just turned against his own PAP Committee.
Dug his own grave.
Lynda must be smiling away. Atleast for tonight.
She will wake up to another saga tomorrow. Just a normal day in Coalition of Bonkers.
Clueless Coalition says
Isa does this Coalition ever wake up to the feel good feeling?
Like where they have served the community without guilt and shame.
What a sad nation.
A drama every day.
Ministry of Home Wreckers says
“A Minister for Children who is the worst possible role model for the nation’s young people as a marijuana user in the midst of a national drug crisis,” Grubsheet.
Fiji Government officials tomorrow:
1. Let’s smoke dope. It’s legal.
2. Let’s have sex at work. All good.
New code of conduct signed by Rabuka.
Enjoy the freedom.

Tourists have village life on a pedestal, whereas the reality is a high incidence of domestic violence, adultery & sexual violence; not to mention the kere kere system of using connections to get ahead. Village life in politics is what Fiji has struggled with since the Coalition took Fiji backwards. Village life & good governance are paradoxical concepts. I challenge the next government to improve both village life and governance for protection of Fijis vulnerable. Rabuka seems to have had no intention or skills to do either.
Olei the turtle making its mark says
As for the third part of her portfolio – social protection – it is the husbands of the wives of Fiji who need protection from a sexual predator without conscience….
Hands up who wants to go on a trip with Tabuya. I bet no one. Well Rabuka can. Stamped his name to that turtle. Shameless.
Poor leadership says
Sex scandal sells like popcorn.
So does a fall in leadership.
Both at par today.
Graham, you have done a good job in exposing their leadership. Fiji will not forgive this.
Sodom and Gomorrah says
May God Himself rain down the generational curses on the city of Sodom and Gomorrah to their D-Day.
Stay calm Fiji.
They were tested and failed.
It’s only the beginning of the end.
Curses galore to unrighteousness leaders.
Breathe it all in…

Moving Target says
The late Joe Kamikamica saw the flaws in Rabuka’s character, the lasa i tuba (adultery), the lies, the personal agrandisement during his SVT govt days, and had the balls to lead a walk out from his party to form the Fijian Association. They were men of principle. From Joe Kamikamikamica’s son, Manoa, much was expected but so little has been shown so far; he is a Rabuka puppet and is nowhere near matching his late father’s stature as a principled leader .
Jaguar says
Manoa is definitely not like his late father. He is another conniving and ambitious liar, waiting patiently for his leaders demise in the hope that he will inherit the Party. The slithering vermins at Knolly’s are smiling on the inside, sharpening their fangs and storing up on venoms.
Burn burn burn...the ring of Lynda. says
Lynda’s fate was never in Rabuka’s hands.
It was opposite.
She had him held to ransom.
So was PAP Committee inept and wrong? Vosarogo included.
That’s telling.
No leadership left worthy of anything in Coalition.
This woman will burn the waqa she is now mastering. Popcorn time.
Vinny says
Snake has made a deal for a brutal night as you know snake has a history of brutal nights. A copy of the gymnastics is with the Indian RAW , secret service during 80s.

Just came over to say It’s crazy how much all of you are boiling over allegations. The fact that this woman has each of you raging is so funny.
Grubsheet is a cult.
Not over till she's out! says
And that woman is their parliamentary slut.
If she think she’s won, wait around and see who has the last laugh…
The truth can never be suppressed with some legal technicality, more so when national ‘leaders’ behaviour are in question. Waraka namaka!
Sort yourself says
It is not about “this woman.”

Jay Sharma says
This coalition government”s days are numbered, if somehow they stagger to full term they will never ever be elected .
To save their political careers they have thrown out the moral compass.
A government without any morals cannot do much good, come on Fiji First, motion of no confidence!
Let it be brutal says
All I can hear in Opposition speeches tomorrow is “brutal.” Every second word will be brutal.

Nick says
PM has no shame left and is a disgrace to the nation and people who voted his govt in. Despite crystal clear evidence against the great temptress and his own party findings of her misdemeanor, the snake chooses to ignore all that. He is a weak leader and dangerous person who needs to be thrown out of politics as soon as possible. If he continues Fiji I’d doomed for dark days and into oblivion.
Confused says
FBC Reporter: So your stand now sir is that she remains the Minister?
Rabuka: Yes.
FBC Reporter: And she won’t be um…stripped of that..?
Rabuka: I don’t I won’t say that
Grubsheet, I watched the FBC News footage on TV and I now question whether Rabuka actually said he isn’t going to remove her or the reporter flubbed the doorstepped questioning and drew her own (possibly biased) conclusions from his poor communication. Unless there is another source for this conclusion I keep seeing that line “…I won’t say that “ or “I will not say that” presumably from this interview. We also have not seen an official statement this week on the matter- remember he put out an official statement on Govt FB last year about the affair allegations. I can see the FBC doorstepped interview footage is available on FB right now with the following caption:
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka confirms that there have been no official reports or complaints lodged against the Minister for Women, Children, and Poverty Alleviation, Lynda Tabuya. ????️????
