# AN UNCLE TOM* SHELTERING UNDER A DIRTY MAC

Posted on August 27, 2024 5 Comments

Colin Deoki of Australia thinks Grubsheet is "stupid" for taking him to task for betraying Fiji's minorities by calling for indigenous paramountcy instead of a common and equal citizenry and for non iTaukei to be called Fiji Islanders instead of Fijians. From the luxury of three decades of enjoying equal rights with other Australians in … [Read more...] about # AN UNCLE TOM* SHELTERING UNDER A DIRTY MAC

# LYNDA TABUYA OPENLY DEFIES THE PRIME MINISTER’S AUTHORITY

Posted on August 26, 2024 13 Comments

The shameless Minister for Bonking and Weed has doubled down on her call for the restoration of the death penalty for drug trafficking, triggering a crisis at the top of government as she acutely embarrasses the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, and refuses to acknowledge his authority. Rabuka told the Fiji Sun from Tonga in a front page story … [Read more...] about # LYNDA TABUYA OPENLY DEFIES THE PRIME MINISTER’S AUTHORITY

# IS THIS THE END FOR THE MINISTER FOR BONKING AND WEED?

Posted on August 25, 2024 17 Comments

The Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, appears to have finally lost patience with the Queen of Tarts and Minister for Bonking and Weed, Lynda Tabuya, over her call for the death penalty to be reintroduced for drug traffickers, which he indicates has been made without consulting him and her other cabinet colleagues and has drawn widespread … [Read more...] about # IS THIS THE END FOR THE MINISTER FOR BONKING AND WEED?

# THE ASTONISHING SAGA OF SITIVENI RABUKA’S GOLD ROLEX

Posted on August 24, 2024 16 Comments

The sudden reappearance on the national scene of the fugitive "Chairman Emeritus" of the Motibhai Group, Mahendra "Mac" Patel, (see previous article) has given fresh resonance to an obscure event 37 years ago that goes to the heart of his relationship with the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka. Because soon after Rabuka's two coups of 1987, "Mac" … [Read more...] about # THE ASTONISHING SAGA OF SITIVENI RABUKA’S GOLD ROLEX

# A CROOK AND HIS SHOCKING ABUSE OF POWER

Posted on August 24, 2024 40 Comments

Mahendra "Mac" Patel is a fugitive from Fijian justice who fled to Australia rather than face trial in Fiji on charges of corruptly using his position as Chair of Post Fiji to instruct the Post Office to buy a clock for the Suva GPO from his own business. Motibhai and Company. The Motibhais from Ba also happen to own the Fiji Times. And in an … [Read more...] about # A CROOK AND HIS SHOCKING ABUSE OF POWER

# HANG ‘EM. CRUSH ‘EM. THE MINISTER FOR WEED TRIGGERS A FLOOD OF “VERBAL DIARRHOEA” (UPDATED SATURDAY)

Posted on August 23, 2024 17 Comments

Proof conclusive that Manoa Kamikamica is unfit to ever be prime minister - his endorsement of Lynda Tabuya's latest "look at me, look at me" suggestion that Fiji reintroduce the death penalty for drug traffickers. Not content with having endorsed her unconscionable salary increases for MPs ("We'll work harder if we get more money") the Deputy … [Read more...] about # HANG ‘EM. CRUSH ‘EM. About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
