# CALLING IT FOR WHAT IT IS. CONGRATULATIONS FIJI SUN

Posted on March 6, 2024 12 Comments

There is hope for the Fijian media after all when a paper with a chequered history in the form of the Fiji Sun brands Lynda Tabuya a "straight-faced liar" and demands that the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, sack her. If indeed, the PM dismisses the Minister for Bonking and Weed when he returns from Australia later in the week, it will be in … [Read more...] about # CALLING IT FOR WHAT IT IS. # THE REAL ENEMY WITHIN

The Coalition government's resident trollop - the Minister for Bonking and Weed - isn't happy with the PAP disciplinary committee that has pronounced her guilty of her "brutal" sexual encounter last August with her fellow minister, Aseri Radrodro, in Room 233 of Melbourne's Windsor Hotel. Lawyers have reportedly been consulted and the Great … [Read more...] about # THE REAL ENEMY WITHIN

# IT ISN’T ENOUGH. SHE MUST BE SACKED ALTOGETHER

This woman slept with another minister metres from where that minister's wife was sleeping during an official parliamentary visit to Victoria. There is also evidence of drug taking on her part. She lied to the Prime Minister when he asked her if she had had an affair and he, in turn, lied to the nation. Removing her as deputy leader of the … [Read more...] about # IT ISN’T ENOUGH. # PONTIUS PILATE WASHES HIS HANDS AS THE RIGHTS OF FIJI’S MINORITIES ARE CRUCIFIED

Posted on March 4, 2024 20 Comments

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces has a duty under Section 131 of the 2013 Constitution – which it played a major role in formulating – “to ensure at all times the security, defence and well-being of Fiji and all Fijians”. Yes, all Fijians irrespective of ethnicity or religion. In 2006, the RFMF removed the ethno-nationalist government of … [Read more...] about # PONTIUS PILATE WASHES HIS HANDS AS THE RIGHTS OF FIJI’S MINORITIES ARE CRUCIFIED

# A LOSS THAT MUST NEVER BE REPEATED

Posted on March 4, 2024 10 Comments

Our national heritage - like that of any nation - is priceless yet many Fijians seem to have been indifferent to just how much we lost when an important part of our history went up in smoke with the fire that consumed the 109-year old Defence Club in Suva a week ago. There was the odd media reference to the destruction of the historical relics … [Read more...] about # A LOSS THAT MUST NEVER BE REPEATED

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
