Posted on November 30, 2025 17 Comments

Three events have dominated the political discourse this week and have social media abuzz with discussion and debate - the gathering of the Bose Levu Vakaturaga (Great Council of Chiefs), the RFMF matanigasau (traditional apology) to the GCC and Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s submission to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Their … [Read more...] about # STATE CAPTURE. COMMONMAN REFLECTS ON THE DOMINANT NARRATIVE IN FIJI FOR THE PAST 38 YEARS

# COMING TOMORROW (SUNDAY). COMMONMAN’S WITHERING CRITIQUE OF THE PRIME MINISTER’S APPEARANCE AT THE TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION COMMISSION

Posted on November 29, 2025 12 Comments

"Sitiveni Rabuka’s submission to the T & R C was to be the crowning event of the last few days. His submission was supposed to cleanse his plate and free his name from blame. Everyone waited with bated breath, hoping that  Rabuka would name names and bring some sort of closure to the 38-year guessing game. From blaming Ratu Mara to … [Read more...] about # COMING TOMORROW (SUNDAY). COMMONMAN’S WITHERING CRITIQUE OF THE PRIME MINISTER’S APPEARANCE AT THE TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION COMMISSION

# PLAY CALLED OFF DUE TO INJURY

Posted on November 26, 2025 28 Comments

GD has been sidelined by an injury which prevents me from using a computer keyboard for the moment. It means that I am unable to post my usual articles until further notice. I very much regret the temporary suspension of service but please look out for CommonMan's articles on weekends. I seek the understanding of my readers and salute them for … [Read more...] about # PLAY CALLED OFF DUE TO INJURY

# AN ENDURING SYMBOL OF THE DEGENERACY OF THE ITAUKEI ESTABLISHMENT UNDER SITIVENI RABUKA

Posted on November 24, 2025 11 Comments

A year after their drunken escapade at the annual conference of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Acting DPP, Nancy Tikoisuva, and her Deputy, John Rabuku, are still in place and the substantive DPP, Christopher Pryde, remains in exile facing trumped-up charges of expenses fraud. It beggars belief that this is the … [Read more...] about # AN ENDURING SYMBOL OF THE DEGENERACY OF THE ITAUKEI ESTABLISHMENT UNDER SITIVENI RABUKA

# WE’RE TAKING THE WEEKEND OFF

Posted on November 22, 2025 10 Comments

Grubsheet and CommonMan are both taking a break. Back next week with startling revelations about parliamentary expense rorts that lay bare the lack of integrity at the top in Fiji. Where is the official investigation? There isn't one. The law is being openly flouted yet there is one rule for those in power and one for the rest of us. … [Read more...] about # WE’RE TAKING THE WEEKEND OFF

# ATTENTION ALL MPs. HANDS UP THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER DOUBLE DIPPED ON THEIR EXPENSES

Posted on November 20, 2025 24 Comments

We're giving Fiji's 55 members of parliament the opportunity here to declare whether they have cheated those who put them there - the nation's voters - by claiming per diem expenses for travel when it has already been paid for by their hosts. Grubsheet will soon be revealing widespread abuse of the law that prevents MPs from double-dipping. And … [Read more...] about # ATTENTION ALL MPs. About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
