# WE INTERRUPT OUR INTERRUPTION TO BRING YOU O’REILLY-GATE. A METAPHOR FOR A GOVERNMENT AND A NATION

Posted on May 5, 2025 41 Comments

The shocking spectacle of the Acting Commissioner for Corrective Services, Sevuloni Naucukidi, brawling in O'Reilly's Nightclub couldn't come at a worse time for the Rabuka government as rumours swirl about even more shocking revelations in the Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry report. A number of very big names could be about to lose their … [Read more...] about # WE INTERRUPT OUR INTERRUPTION TO BRING YOU O’REILLY-GATE. A METAPHOR FOR A GOVERNMENT AND A NATION

# PANIC GRIPS THE NFP AND ITS SUPPORTERS AS THE ECONOMIC OUTLOOK WORSENS

Posted on April 28, 2025 44 Comments

Grubsheet's last article on Biman Prasad's travails being far from over despite being "cleared" by FICAC because of the impending Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry report has struck a raw nerve with his closest supporters, including the Chair of the Fiji Sugar Corporation, Nitya Reddy. The NFP leader plucked the former politician and … [Read more...] about # PANIC GRIPS THE NFP AND ITS SUPPORTERS AS THE ECONOMIC OUTLOOK WORSENS

# HE MAY HAVE BEEN “CLEARED” BY FICAC BUT BIMAN PRASAD IS STILL ON THE RUN

Posted on April 26, 2025 55 Comments

It beggars belief that before the Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry into the appointment of Barbara Malimali as FICAC Commissioner delivers its long-awaited report, Malimali should choose to "clear" the Deputy Prime Minister and NFP leader, Biman Prasad, of wrongdoing when his case was examined by the COI. It is a travesty of justice that again … [Read more...] about # HE MAY HAVE BEEN “CLEARED” BY FICAC BUT BIMAN PRASAD IS STILL ON THE RUN

# THE MINISTER FOR ITAUKEI AFFAIRS BLAMES THE ITAUKEI FOR THEIR OWN POVERTY

Posted on April 25, 2025 19 Comments

If the iTaukei are poor, it's their own fault. So says the Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu - the man who has made himself rich by going into business with the convicted Chinese drug and people trafficker, Jason Zhong. Vasu - who met Zhong when the Chinese gangster and accused Triad member was in jail and he was corrective services … [Read more...] about # THE MINISTER FOR ITAUKEI AFFAIRS BLAMES THE ITAUKEI FOR THEIR OWN POVERTY

# WELL, WELL, WELL. THINGS COULD BE ABOUT TO GET VERY INTERESTING. UNLESS “PONTIUS” RABUKA WASHES HIS HANDS AGAIN

Posted on April 23, 2025 30 Comments

Can it really be true that the Prime Minister genuinely wants to release the Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry Report into the appointment of Barbara Malimali as FICAC Commissioner? With all that would mean for the reputations of Malimali herself and a slew of government ministers and prominent lawyers? That's the "face value" takeaway of … [Read more...] about # WELL, WELL, WELL. THINGS COULD BE ABOUT TO GET VERY INTERESTING. UNLESS “PONTIUS” RABUKA WASHES HIS HANDS AGAIN

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
