# HOMER IS LOOKING FOR SYMPATHY. IT’S BETWEEN SH*T AND SYPHILIS IN THE SHORTER OXFORD DICTIONARY

Posted on August 14, 2026 5 Comments

Charlie Charters seems to think that his praise for the Coalition government on social media entitles him to special treatment and certainly not to have his phone seized again by the police after he won his court case against FICAC. Grubsheet doesn't know enough to make any credible pronouncement on the case. But our local "Homer in a Muumuu" is … [Read more...] about # HOMER IS LOOKING FOR SYMPATHY. # WHY FOUR MONTHS SINCE THE RFMF TORTURED AND KILLED JONE VAKARISI HAS NO-ONE BEEN CHARGED?

Posted on August 12, 2026 5 Comments

The collective amnesia of the mainstream media and its willingness to be manipulated means that stories of vital national importance routinely go under the radar in Fiji. And none more so than with the extrajudicial killing by the RFMF of the accused drug lord, Jone Vakarisi. It will be four months next week since Vakarisi was beaten to death … [Read more...] about # WHY FOUR MONTHS SINCE THE RFMF TORTURED AND KILLED JONE VAKARISI HAS NO-ONE BEEN CHARGED?

# THE COALITION IS POISED TO DELAY THE ELECTION IN A MODERN DAY REPLAY OF 1987 WITHOUT THE GUNS. THE FIJIAN PEOPLE MUST FIGHT BACK

Posted on August 9, 2026 20 Comments

Never mind his rape of democracy in 1987, Sitiveni Rabuka is signaling that the government is considering delaying the coming election until after it can change the constitution. It is a clear violation of the supreme law which other politicians must go to the courts to challenge if Rabuka proceeds with this plan. Because the 2013 Constitution … [Read more...] about # THE COALITION IS POISED TO DELAY THE ELECTION IN A MODERN DAY REPLAY OF 1987 WITHOUT THE GUNS. THE FIJIAN PEOPLE MUST FIGHT BACK

# FEARS OF A REIGN OF TERROR AS MANOA KAMIKAMICA STORMS BACK INTO POWER

Posted on August 7, 2026 22 Comments

God help anyone in government now labouring under the vastly expanded powers of the restored Deputy Prime Minister, Manoa Kamikamica, who wasn't totally supportive of him during his tussle with FICAC. That's the word as a wave of fear spreads through the civil service that Mr Sweet plans not only to take over from Sitiveni Rabuka as soon as it … [Read more...] about # FEARS OF A REIGN OF TERROR AS MANOA KAMIKAMICA STORMS BACK INTO POWER

# HERE’S LOOKING UP YOUR SULU, MATE. THE DOMINANT MEMBER OF THE VUVALE UNION SPEAKS (UPDATED)

Posted on August 5, 2026 15 Comments

Peter Roberts - the Australian High Commissioner to Fiji - doesn't go to the CFL Fiji Village studios like any local to be interviewed by Vijay Narayan. Vijay goes to him at the Australian official residence - a slice of Oz in the gated complex on Princes Road high above the capital. If the Mountain won't go to Mohammed - goes an old saying - … [Read more...] about # HERE’S LOOKING UP YOUR SULU, MATE. THE DOMINANT MEMBER OF THE VUVALE UNION SPEAKS (UPDATED)

# MR SWEET REJOINS THE COALITION OF BLING AS HALF THE NATION LIVES IN POVERTY

Posted on August 5, 2026 6 Comments

So Manoa Kamikamica is back as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and other things wearing the uniform of Sitiveni Rabuka's government - a large rock of gold on his left hand. What is it about these people that they can flash symbols of wealth in the faces of voters who put them there who can scarcely put food on the table? Or mat. … [Read more...] about # MR SWEET REJOINS THE COALITION OF BLING AS HALF THE NATION LIVES IN POVERTY

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
