# IF ONLY HE PUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF EFFORT INTO RUNNING THE COUNTRY

Posted on May 6, 2024 25 Comments

A question for my readers: What has the Coalition actually achieved in its 17 months in office? I mean tangible outcomes that have made the country better, not just a continuation of the policies of FijiFirst? Some of its supporters might say the restoration of the GCC is one. Except that it is already proving to be divisive and every taxpayer … [Read more...] about # IF ONLY HE PUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF EFFORT INTO RUNNING THE COUNTRY

# YOU CAN PUT LIPSTICK ON A PIG BUT HE IS STILL A PIG

The two members of the cabinet vying for the number "233" at the next election. They have become the Coalition's weakest links - the domestic violence abuser who is Minister for Education and his drug-taking illicit sex partner who is Minister for Women and Children. The worst possible role models for the nation's young people. When caught … [Read more...] about # YOU CAN PUT LIPSTICK ON A PIG BUT HE IS STILL A PIG

# THE FIJI TIMES. A GROTESQUE PARODY OF JOURNALISM

Posted on May 4, 2024 18 Comments

These are the faces of the Great Betrayers - the Fiji Times editorial team led by Fred Wesley (standing on the right ) who debase the practice of journalism on a daily basis while they shamelessly boast that they are "free" and are finally, under the Coalition, telling Fijians what they need to know. It is a lie. Fiji's supposed newspaper of … [Read more...] about # THE FIJI TIMES. A GROTESQUE PARODY OF JOURNALISM

# THE TWO JONES. THE RFMF COMMANDER SENDS A POTENT MESSAGE

Posted on May 3, 2024 21 Comments

Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai has raised eyebrows in the military by choosing the day on which his predecessor as Commander, Frank Bainimarama, has had his fate sealed in the courts to meet with one of Bainimarama's most implacable enemies, the former Land Forces Commander, Colonel ( Ret'd) Jone Baledrokadroka. Wearing his hat as Chair of … [Read more...] about # THE TWO JONES. THE RFMF COMMANDER SENDS A POTENT MESSAGE

# FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS, FIJI. WE’RE IN FOR A BUMPY RIDE (UPDATED)

Posted on May 2, 2024 33 Comments

Despite being demonstrably biased and pre-judging the appeal case against Frank Bainimarama and Sitiveni Qiliho, the Acting Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, refused to stand aside from the case on Thursday and he will re-sentence the pair next Thursday, May 9, at 11.00am. The stage is now set for both men to go to jail, which has all sorts of … [Read more...] about # FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS, FIJI. WE’RE IN FOR A BUMPY RIDE (UPDATED)

# WHAT’S IN A NAME? AIYAZ SAYED HYPHEN SILLYSAUSAGE HYPHEN KHAIYUM

Posted on May 2, 2024 9 Comments

The FijiFirst Opposition has been missing in action for so long that it seems the only time it makes the news is when its principals are before the courts – something party head Frank Bainimarama will do again today (Thursday) when he and Sitiveni Qiliho appear in the High Court before Acting Chief Justice Salesi Temo. As we’ve reported before, … [Read more...] about # WHAT’S IN A NAME? AIYAZ SAYED HYPHEN SILLYSAUSAGE HYPHEN KHAIYUM

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
