The Commission of Inquiry into the appointment of Barbara Malimali as FICAC Commissioner has sought an urgent meeting with the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, as its demand for the suspension of Malimali to protect FICAC witnesses from intimidation continues to be ignored. At the time of writing in the early hours of this morning, we don't know … [Read more...] about # ALL EYES ARE ON THE PM TO BREAK THE MALIMALI SUSPENSION DEADLOCK

So after having been sent on leave when the Commission of Inquiry into her appointment as FICAC Commissioner instead asked for her suspension, Barbara Malimali is still interfering with the conduct of the Commission and its FICAC witnesses. Bad-ass Barbie is brazenly giving the middle finger to Justice David Ashton-Lewis. And if the Prime … [Read more...] about # HOW MUCH LONGER IS THIS FARCE GOING TO BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE? # THE WAVE OF FEAR RUNNING THROUGH THE PM’S POLITICAL RIVALS. IN HIS OWN TEAM

Posted on February 26, 2025 22 Comments

The biggest political unknown in Fiji is why the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, set up the Ashton-Lewis Commission of Inquiry into the appointment of Barbara Malimali when by its very nature, it was bound to apply the blowtorch to members of his own government. Grubsheet has remarked before that the cardinal rule in politics the world over is … [Read more...] about # THE WAVE OF FEAR RUNNING THROUGH THE PM’S POLITICAL RIVALS. IN HIS OWN TEAM

It has been almost two weeks since there has been any mention in these columns of the Fallen Woman of the Coalition, Lynda Tabuya, who has vanished into relative obscurity after being constantly in the news for months. The Queen of Tarts and former Minister for Bonking and Weed finally seems to be taking notice of the demands by the management … [Read more...] about # WHAT’S HAPPENED TO THE MUZZLED QUEEN OF TARTS AND HER IDLE THREATS?

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
