Please feel free to contribute anything of interest in the comments section below and I will endeavour to clear those comments when I can. Rest assured the interruption is only temporary and as … [Read more...] about

As the Coalition government drifts towards the rocks of next year's election, the Fiji Sun does us all a service today by identifying the 35 crew members of Sitiveni Rabuka's ship of state - his vastly expanded ministry - amid clear signs that leaks have sprouted in the vessel and some of the crew are rebelling. Over at the Fiji Times, the … [Read more...] about # MUTINY ON THE SHIP OF FOOLS

Guess what Fiji? As the Coalition government lurches from crisis to crisis and wallows in chaos and dysfunction, its supporters are starting to realise that the clock is ticking towards its day of judgment next year and are coming up with the most bizarre excuses for its failure. Mick "The Mouth" Beddoes - the one-time Sage of Sabeto and the … [Read more...] about # AND WE LAUGHED AND WE LAUGHED AND WE LAUGHED. UNTIL WE THREW THEM OUT

# FOR FIJI’S MINORITIES, WE ARE NOW FOUR VOTES AWAY FROM CATASTROPHE

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka's tactic of using taxpayer funds to acquire the votes of previously independent former members of FijiFirst by buying them off with ministerial positions has now given him control of 70 per cent of the parliament. And he is just four votes short of the magic 75 per cent that will enable him to change the … [Read more...] about # FOR FIJI’S MINORITIES, WE ARE NOW FOUR VOTES AWAY FROM CATASTROPHE

# SITIVENI RABUKA BUYS SEVEN POLITICAL WHORES WITH YOUR MONEY

The Prime Minister confirms that Siromi Turaga is being removed as Justice Minister in today's cabinet reshuffle as he takes ministerial responsibility, among other things, for the Christopher Pryde debacle. But by far the most notable aspect of the reshuffle is that Sitiveni Rabuka is using your money to buy off seven members of the Group of Nine … [Read more...] about # SITIVENI RABUKA BUYS SEVEN POLITICAL WHORES WITH YOUR MONEY

# THE GRIN GETS WIPED OFF SIROMI TURAGA’S FACE

Posted on January 9, 2025 52 Comments

Can you believe it, Fiji? As the Coalition government wallows in chaos and dysfunction, the man with the supercilious grin has succeeded in putting Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Christopher Pryde back on the front pages of both dailies today, with the ousted AG and the reinstated DPP on the front foot. It is the biggest resurrection for both men since … [Read more...] about # THE GRIN GETS WIPED OFF SIROMI TURAGA’S FACE

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
