Wherever you are in Fiji or the diaspora, Grubsheet sends greetings to every Fijian on the occasion of our national day. So let's hope for a day of genuine … [Read more...] about # FIJI DAY. HERE’S TO SOME REFLECTION ALONG WITH THE CELEBRATIONS

# THE CORRUPT DRUNK WISHES US ALL HAPPY FIJI DAY. SERIOUSLY, BARBARA. WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?

Posted on October 9, 2024 18 Comments

Barbara Malimali is under investigation for abuse of office as Chair of the Electoral Commission after a colourful career that includes a drunken episode on a beach in Tuvalu and in a judge's bed that led to a criminal trial being aborted. She has also displayed corrupt conduct as the newly-appointed Commissioner of FICAC in clearing her close … [Read more...] about # THE CORRUPT DRUNK WISHES US ALL HAPPY FIJI DAY. SERIOUSLY, BARBARA. # THAT PHOTO AND A GOVERNMENT IN TOTAL DISARRAY

Posted on October 8, 2024 22 Comments

For the second day running, the Fiji Sun has devoted its front page to "that photo" - the scandal of Siromi Turaga, John Rabuku and Barbara Malimali socialising with each other when they are investigating each other for alleged abuse of office. Or more specifically, John Rabuku - the Deputy DPP - is meant to be investigating Barbara Malimali for … [Read more...] about # THAT PHOTO AND A GOVERNMENT IN TOTAL DISARRAY

# IS THIS TO BE THE LATEST INSULT FROM THE COALITION? (UPDATED WED AM)

Posted on October 8, 2024 25 Comments

Reports from Levuka speak of community disquiet and outrage that Lynda Tabuya - the multi-millionaire Queen of Tarts and Minister for Bonking and Weed - is to be the official guest at Fiji Day celebrations where it all began - the site of the signing of the Deed of Cession in 1874. Grubsheet can't find an official announcement on social media or … [Read more...] about # IS THIS TO BE THE LATEST INSULT FROM THE COALITION? (UPDATED WED AM)

# “STAND THEM DOWN”. TURAGA, RABUKU AND MALIMALI AT THE CENTRE OF A FRESH COALITION SCANDAL

Posted on October 7, 2024 28 Comments

Grubsheet's story on Sunday about the Minister for Justice, the Deputy DPP and the Commissioner of FICAC fraternising socially amid official investigations involving all three has triggered a call by the Opposition leader, Inia Seruiratu, for their suspension. Seruiratu says the same standard that applied to DPP Christopher Pryde when he was … [Read more...] about # “STAND THEM DOWN”. TURAGA, RABUKU AND MALIMALI AT THE CENTRE OF A FRESH COALITION SCANDAL

# COMING SOON. WHAT WE ALREADY KNOW ABOUT RABUKA’S ROLE IN 2000. BUT WILL HE TELLS US THE WHOLE TRUTH?

Posted on October 6, 2024 37 Comments

The plans for a Truth and Reconciliation Commission hide an uncomfortable fact - that many people involved in the events of 1987, 2000 and 2006 don't want the truth revealed at all. Because it would expose a whole lot of hitherto secret agendas and unmask some of the plotters who have yet to be unmasked. Coming soon, the precise details of what … [Read more...] about # COMING SOON. WHAT WE ALREADY KNOW ABOUT RABUKA’S ROLE IN 2000. BUT WILL HE TELLS US THE WHOLE TRUTH?

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
