# READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY, LYNDA?

Posted on October 5, 2024 14 Comments

Headline of the week was surely the Fiji Times front page revealing that the data Fijians chew up watching pornography is the equivalent of reading 100-million books. We keep using the old term "only in Fiji" in all sorts of contexts these days. Yet only in Fiji would the Co-Chair of the government's Task Force on Pornography not only be a porn … [Read more...] about # READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY, LYNDA?

# THE COMING WHITEWASH OF A VERY BLACK EPISODE (UPDATED SAT PM)

Posted on October 5, 2024 20 Comments

So next Tuesday, Cabinet will decide precisely who is going to investigate the "rot" over the appointment of Barbara Malimali at FICAC and the terms of reference of the "inquiry" into the sensational allegations of ministerial interference at the corruption watchdog. In the cabinet room will be the seven ministers who were being investigated … [Read more...] about # THE COMING WHITEWASH OF A VERY BLACK EPISODE (UPDATED SAT PM)

# THE PRIME MINISTER’S ASSURANCES ARE WORTHLESS (UPDATED FRIDAY LUNCHTIME)

Posted on October 4, 2024 41 Comments

Francis Puleiwai would do well to take no notice of the Prime Minister's assurances that she would be safe returning to Fiji to give evidence at the forthcoming inquiry into the "rot" of Barbara Malimali's appointment at FICAC. There is ample evidence that Sitiveni Rabuka doesn't have control over instruments of state such as the Judicial … [Read more...] about # THE PRIME MINISTER’S ASSURANCES ARE WORTHLESS (UPDATED FRIDAY LUNCHTIME)

# “BARBARA-GATE”. AN OPEN LETTER TO WYLIE CLARKE

Posted on October 4, 2024 15 Comments

Who is standing up for the rule of law in Fiji? Well, evidently not the Fiji Law Society when two of its luminaries - the current President, Wylie Clarke, and former President, Laurel Vaurasi, - were reportedly part of the gang of enforcers that descended on FICAC on "Black Thursday "(September 5) to strong-arm Francis Puleiwai into backing off in … [Read more...] about # “BARBARA-GATE”. # MANOA KAMIKAMICA’S SUBTLE BRAND OF INTIMIDATION (UPDATED THURS PM)

Posted on October 3, 2024 35 Comments

Manoa Kamikamica has again shown his unfitness for national leadership with an extraordinary display of hypocrisy and lack of understanding about (what ought to be) the independence of our institutions of state from the executive government. At the same time as he crows that intimidation and threats against FICAC won't be tolerated, he admits … [Read more...] about # MANOA KAMIKAMICA’S SUBTLE BRAND OF INTIMIDATION (UPDATED THURS PM)

# EXPOSED: LYNDA TABUYA AND BARBARA MALIMALI’S BIG LIE

Posted on October 1, 2024 58 Comments

It has taken barely a day for the Prime Minister to be humiliated over his refusal to insist that Barbara MalImali stand aside as FICAC Commissioner while an official inquiry examines what Sitiveni Rabuka himself has described as the "rottenness" surrounding her appointment. One of Barbara Malimali's first acts has been to terminate the FICAC … [Read more...] about # EXPOSED: LYNDA TABUYA AND BARBARA MALIMALI’S BIG LIE

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
