# BREAKING…THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS ARE OFF. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST 14 MONTHS AGO

Posted on May 21, 2026 12 Comments

Charlie Charters taunts me on Facebook for usually being wrong. But there's another thing I got right in March 2025 when I predicted that local government elections wouldn't be held before the national election. And whaddayaknow? The Prime Minister announced this morning that the September local government elections are off. He gives a … [Read more...] about # BREAKING…THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS ARE OFF. # “SMALL BUSINESSES WILL PERISH”. THE DIRE WARNING AS LYNDA TABUYA PUTS THE OLD FOOL OVER A BARREL ON THE “LIVING WAGE”

Posted on May 20, 2026 12 Comments

Sitiveni Rabuka is in all sorts of trouble across a broad front - his "hands up" gesture on the front page of today's Fiji Times a metaphor for a Prime Minister totally out of his depth and too weak politically to govern effectively. The economic crisis triggered by events in the Middle East now includes the prospect of power cuts in Fiji and … [Read more...] about # “SMALL BUSINESSES WILL PERISH”. # EGG ON SOME VERY EXPENSIVE FACES AFTER THE PRIZE COCKS OF THE BAR FAIL TO PERSUADE JUDGE BULL

Posted on May 19, 2026 13 Comments

"You win some, you lose some" is an adage that applies as much to celebrity lawyers as it does to anyone else who takes their chances in the courts. And Richard "I have the means" Naidu and Wylie "Coyote" Clarke - along with their star Kings Counsel, Martin Daubney - have sure had a big loss in their attempt to derail the FICAC prosecutions of … [Read more...] about # EGG ON SOME VERY EXPENSIVE FACES AFTER THE PRIZE COCKS OF THE BAR FAIL TO PERSUADE JUDGE BULL

# THE CORRUPT CHIEF JUSTICE REDUCES FIJI TO A JUDICIAL SH*THOLE WHERE THE TOP JUDGE PLAYS WITH THE ACCUSED LIKE A CAT WITH MICE

Posted on May 14, 2026 16 Comments

Once again, Salesi Temo has demonstrated misbehaviour on an industrial scale that more than warrants his suspension yet an equally corrupt President who happens to be his relative plus a corrupt Prime Minister conspire to keep him in office. It wasn't enough for Temo to be accused of perjury and obstructing and perverting the course of justice … [Read more...] about # THE CORRUPT CHIEF JUSTICE REDUCES FIJI TO A JUDICIAL SH*THOLE WHERE THE TOP JUDGE PLAYS WITH THE ACCUSED LIKE A CAT WITH MICE

# THE PULPIT AS A PR TOOL. COMMANDER KALOUNIWAI COMPOUNDS HIS FAILURE OF LEADERSHIP

Posted on May 12, 2026 34 Comments

There is something distasteful, especially for people of faith, about the RFMF Commander, Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, choosing to use a church service to make some of his first public comments about the murder of Jone Vakarisi - a "house of God" as a venue to address a sordid crime committed by elements of the force he leads. Why … [Read more...] about # THE PULPIT AS A PR TOOL. COMMANDER KALOUNIWAI COMPOUNDS HIS FAILURE OF LEADERSHIP

# THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS IMAGES THAT ARE UNSUITABLE FOR CHILDREN AND MAY BE DISTRESSING FOR OTHERS. READER DISCRETION ADVISED

Grubsheet is today taking the unprecedented step of publishing photographs of the body of the accused drug dealer, Jone Vakarisi, who was tortured and beaten to death while in the custody of the RFMF three weeks ago. We are doing so in the public interest and having established that this is with the knowledge and approval of Vakarisi's family. … [Read more...] about # THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS IMAGES THAT ARE UNSUITABLE FOR CHILDREN AND MAY BE DISTRESSING FOR OTHERS. About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
