# CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT THESE (MOSTLY) OLD MEN ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT?

Posted on November 14, 2024 37 Comments

We know that many Fijians are unhappy that they didn't get the opportunity to be consulted about the contents of the 2013 Constitution - our supreme law. Before it was promulgated, the then attorney general, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, held meetings all over the country telling people what was in it but no-one was given the opportunity to suggest changes, … [Read more...] about # CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT THESE (MOSTLY) OLD MEN ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT?

# THE ENABLERS WHO HAVE BROUGHT US A MONSTER AS HEAD OF STATE

Posted on November 13, 2024 36 Comments

The images of Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu's installation as President are stomach-churning for anyone with a sense of decency, as is the appalling hypocrisy of his inaugural address in which he said the chiefs should be "setting an example" to the Fijian people. The example the Tui Cakau has set is one that no Fijian should follow - convicted and … [Read more...] about # THE ENABLERS WHO HAVE BROUGHT US A MONSTER AS HEAD OF STATE

# THE “PEDOPHILE PRESIDENT” TAKES OFFICE WITH A GROTESQUE MANIPULATION OF THE TRUTH

Posted on November 12, 2024 57 Comments

The corruption of the nation's traditional newspaper of record, the Fiji Times, by its owners, the Motibhai family, that Grubsheet has repeatedly detailed has reached a new level of depravity with an astonishing front page "curtain raiser" on the installation today of the Tui Cakau, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, as president of the Republic. It is … [Read more...] about # THE “PEDOPHILE PRESIDENT” TAKES OFFICE WITH A GROTESQUE MANIPULATION OF THE TRUTH

# NICE HAT. SHAME ABOUT THE HYPOCRISY (UPATED TUES)

Posted on November 11, 2024 21 Comments

The Attorney General, Graham Leung, startled lawyers at the annual conference of the Fiji Law Society by saying there are far too many of them, many of them aren't any good and far too many of them are badly behaved. He revealed that 3,915 lawyers have had complaints lodged against them with the Legal Practitioners Unit since it was established … [Read more...] about # NICE HAT. # EXCLUSIVE: BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCKING AT STATE HOUSE, THE PALACE OF SLEAZE

Posted on November 9, 2024 28 Comments

There seems to be no end to the unprincipled conduct of the Coalition government as reports reach Grubsheet that the serial sexual harasser, Pita Wise, has been earmarked for the job of official secretary to the incoming "pedophile president", Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu. Removed from the job of permanent secretary to the Prime Minister after … [Read more...] about # EXCLUSIVE: BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCKING AT STATE HOUSE, THE PALACE OF SLEAZE

# EXCLUSIVE: THE CLANDESTINE PHOTOS THAT NAILED CHRISTOPHER PRYDE

Posted on November 8, 2024 21 Comments

It has taken 21 months for the "smoking gun" photos to emerge of the conversation between Christopher Pryde and the ousted attorney general, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, that triggered Pryde's suspension as DPP. But here they are - obtained by Grubsheet the best part of two years later and when there is still no judicial Tribunal hearing to test the charge … [Read more...] about # EXCLUSIVE: THE CLANDESTINE PHOTOS THAT NAILED CHRISTOPHER PRYDE

About Grubsheet

Graham Davis
Grubsheet Feejee is the blogsite of Graham Davis, an award-winning journalist turned communications consultant who was the Fijian Government’s principal communications advisor for six years from 2012 to 2018 and continued to work on Fiji’s global climate and oceans campaign up until the end of the decade.

Fiji-born to missionary parents and a dual Fijian-Australian national, Graham spent four decades in the international media before returning to Fiji to work full time in 2012. He reported from many parts of the world for the BBC, ABC, SBS, the Nine and Seven Networks and Sky News and wrote for a range of newspapers and magazines in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Graham launched Grubsheet Feejee in 2011 and suspended writing for it after the Fijian election of 2014, by which time he was working at the heart of government. But the website continued to attract hits as a background resource on events in Fiji in the transition back to parliamentary democracy.

Grubsheet relaunches in 2020 at one of the most critical times in Fijian history, with the nation reeling from the Covid-19 crisis and Frank Bainimarama’s government shouldering the twin burdens of incumbency and economic disintegration.

Grubsheet’s sole agenda is the national interest; the strengthening of Fiji’s ties with the democracies; upholding equal rights for all citizens; government that is genuinely transparent and free of corruption and nepotism; and upholding Fiji’s service to the world in climate and oceans advocacy and UN Peacekeeping.
